We steamed through the night and had a fresh 28 knot breeze behind us which made it a little lumpy at times. Toby started the first watch at 20:00 after a delicious supper, Wilson remained in the wheel house to keep an extra eye out. Harry and Noah went to bed with Noah on watch next at 23:00. Once Noah went on watch Wilson decided to get some shut eye too. Harry emerged to take over at 02:00 allowing Noah to go back to bed. Wilson joined Harry on watch (Harry isn't a fan of the dark!). The sea got calmer as did Harry as light began to creep up on us at about 03:30! Toby took over from Harry at 05:00 for the last watch until 08:00.
We all emerged around 09:30 to a very grey but calm start which then began to clear in time for breakfast at 10:30 - Noah insisted on bacon and eggs, again - Harry cooked.
We have had the tide with us most of the morning and have been charging along at 10 knots - we have about 20 gallons of fuel left per engine (and plenty spare in the rear locker). Hoping to be in Hartlepool by 15:30, and looking forward to having some peace and quiet from the drone of the engines.
Harry
Very glad to read you’ve navigated the North Sea successfullly. Enjoy the weather up to Edinburgh.
Glad to hear no serious mutinies yet. Watch out for the Monkey Hangers!
So the hard work done. Relax and have a few beers. Be careful requesting “Hartlepool head” , has many meanings…..
