Since the last post we have been to Torquay and Weymouth. We spent two nights in Torquay and it isn't the most charming of towns but on the whole it wasn't that bad. The weather was superb and we were close to everything. In particular we enjoyed the pub "The Hole in the Wall". It was a 16th Century pub with a decent selection of proper beer - in particular we liked Timothy Taylors Landlord bitter. We haven't been too active in either person or on here because the morning we left Dartmouth Peter woke up with severe pain in his right wrist and hand. Slightly concerning as it is his key to mobility! Naturally Peter refused to see a pharmacist let alone a doctor. Harry and Noah went and bought lotions and potions and Peter upped his various pill intake and believe it or not self prescribed himself h20 otherwise known as 'water'. "I better break all the rules and have a pint of water in the morning...".
We arrived in Weymouth yesterday and it was scorching waiting for the bridge to open to let us into the marina. Once in Noah and Harry wandered to the chandlery to get various bits of which they had nothing we required or desired. Next stop find somewhere to have supper hmm. Of the slim selection of barely acceptable looking restaurants we tried to book, none of them had any room. We called Peter and Malcolm who were on the boat and told them to meet us at a pub "The Black Dog" so we could make a plan. To be frank Weymouth made Torquay look like Salcombe. We got a deliveroo... Indian, which was actually very good.
Awoke this morning to no wind and clear blue skies...lovely! And fantastic news is that Peter's wrist and hand have deflated and are no longer causing pain!! We topped up the water and set off to get through the first bridge opening at 8am. Currently en route to Hamble - 8hrs to go!
